We want you to choose the right equipment the first time and feel completely confident in your purchase. Because we sell medical equipment, all sales are final — we do not accept returns or exchanges. That is the standard across the medical-supply industry, and it exists to protect the health and safety of every customer. The good news: our team is here before you buy to make sure you get exactly what you need, and we are always a phone call away if you have questions.

All purchases from American Medical & Equipment Supply are final. We do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds. We know that sounds firm, so here is the honest reason behind it.
Why we cannot accept returns
Medical equipment, mobility aids, bath safety products, incontinence and wound-care supplies, mattresses, cushions, and similar items come into direct contact with the body. Once an item has left our store, it cannot be resold or reused for hygiene, sanitation, and safety reasons, and many items are non-returnable under California law. This is the same policy you will find across reputable medical-supply retailers, and it is there to keep the next customer just as safe as you. It is never a reflection of the quality of our products — we stand firmly behind everything we sell.
How we help you buy with confidence
Because every sale is final, we put our energy into helping you get it right the first time. Before you purchase, we are happy to:
- Talk through your needs by phone or text and recommend the right option;
- Help you compare sizes, weight capacities, and features so the fit is correct;
- Welcome you into our San Jose showroom to see and try equipment in person — no appointment needed.
Please reach out with any question, however small, before you buy. We would much rather take the time up front than have you end up with something that is not quite right.
Damaged or defective items
If something arrives damaged, or you believe an item is defective, call us right away. While we do not offer returns or exchanges, most products are covered by a manufacturer's warranty, and we will help you understand and file a warranty claim so the issue gets resolved.
